16U UA Stuns Cleveland Area AA Teams In Claiming the Rock and Roll Cup March 24th.

MYHA's 16U UA team (with some help from a couple of 16U AA players and former MYHA travel players) swept to victory in Cleveland Ohio March 22nd-24th.

The Blue Devils were playing in the top 16U division which featured three highly talented AA teams from the Cleveland area and one team from Buffalo NY.

MYHA split the first two games beating Team Columbus 6-0 and falling to the Cazenovia Chiefs 3-1.  Because of that, the remaining two games in the Preliminary rounds were must wins.
In the third game against the Ohio Prospects, the Devils gave up two quick goals in the first period but battled back in the second and third periods to take a 4-3 lead into the final two minutes of the game.  The Prospects pulled their goalie and scored an equalizer with 47 seconds left in the game.  All seemed lost as a tie meant the Devils would be going home.  But showing true MYHA grit, MYHA defenseman Andrew Hockey fired home the winning goal with 20 seconds left to preserve the Devil's dream of a championship.
In the final prelim game, the Devils dominated the Cleveland Sharks 3-1 giving up only an empty net goal (yes the MYHA goalie had a shutout!) due to confusion on the tie breaker.

In the championship game, MYHA beat the Cleveland Sharks 3-1 again (the only Shark goal coming on a 5-3 power play).

MYHA goalie, Jonas Clark, was named the MVP of the championship game.
