Under the leadership of Coach Tommy Maulding, MYHA’s U14 AA team advanced to the quarterfinals at USA Hockey Nationals this past weekend.  This is best finish for any MYHA team at Nationals in recent memory.
 
On its way to the quarterfinals, the team bested 44th-ranked Colorado Springs Tigers 6-5 and 82nd-ranked Darien Youth Hockey 5-2.  The team then lost to the 8th-ranked team in the country 3-2 in a shootout.  In a quarterfinal defensive duel, the team took the 5th-ranked team in the country to overtime.  The puck, though, did not bounce MYHA’s way in overtime, leading to a 2-1 loss to the Chesterfield Falcons.  The Falcons eventually won the championship 4-3 in a shootout.
