Welcome New Board Members

Dear MYHA Families,

As summer settles in, I reflect on how incredibly grateful I am for the members of our MYHA community and this amazing club we are all a part of. I hope all of you enjoy this break before next season begins.

On behalf of the entire MYHA Board of Directors, officers, and club membership, I welcome Dan Lyons, Katya Shterenberg, and Steve Maki to the board and look forward to their continued contribution to the club for years to come.

I want to thank all of the candidates who ran for the board. Your dedication and love for MYHA  and hockey drives our motivation to continue to do what we do. There are always opportunities to get involved and we hope everyone will find ways to volunteer and give back to the club.

Enjoy your summer and I look forward to an outstanding 2023-2024 season.

Sincerely,

Harris Vederman
President
MYHA Board of Directors

Dan Lyons

After more than nine years with MYHA as a parent and volunteer coach, Dan is looking forward to the opportunity to help guide the club as a board member. He is honored to be elected to this position and entrusted to help improve and strengthen MYHA to secure its future as a leader in youth hockey organizations.

Katya Shterenberg

This is Katya’s first term on the Board of Directors. MYHA has been her family’s only hockey home after her son, Ilan(14), joined as a first year Squirt. Throughout these last five years, Katya either managed or helped to manage the teams her son was on and often has served as a mentor to new managers. With her son now also volunteering as a Junior Coach at the instructional programs, she is, once again, reminded of the challenges that new hockey families face. As a firm believer that a positive and supportive environment enhances everyone’s experience, creates stronger bonds, and contributes to the kids’ drive to work harder, develop and succeed, she’s excited to join the BOD next season to help enhance our community’s experiences, aid in demystifying the process of hockey for the new and existing families, encourage increased community engagement, as well as support player and coach development in any aspect of hockey.

Steve Maki

Steve is joining the board for his first term. He has been a part of the MYHA Community for the past four years, coaching in the AIP, 6U, and 8U programs with his son Landon. As a coach, Steve has helped build a community of parents dedicated to the success of their players on and off the ice. He plans to use his time on the board to continue building a strong MYHA community and looks forward to serving the parents and players for the next three years and beyond.
