This past Sunday, the Washington Capitals celebrated youth hockey day. Players from around the Nation's Capital were selected by their clubs to escort the Capitals to their locker room, announce the starting line up, stand with players at center ice for the national anthem, participate in not one, but two intermission Mites on Ice games, and various other fun in game activities. The arena was buzzing with lots of youth hockey energy!

MYHA was one of the clubs selected to participate in the player escort portion of the day. Emma Mills (10U UAB and 10U AA Girls) had the honor and privilege to escort Erik Gustafsson down the hallway to the Caps locker room while sporting our away jersey. The Caps felt it fitting to pair Emma with Gustafsson due to our club's history of producing great Swedish players.

While she may not have been wearing MYHA, hidden beneath her high school jersey was another member of our MYHA teams. Caroline Lokken (19U AA Girls) had the honor of escorting Trevor van Riemsdyk to the locker room while wearing her St. Johns College High School jersey.
