We’ve all read about – and, sadly, probably seen – that parent.  The one who cares way more about winning than her child.  The one who lectures his child the whole ride home on what he did wrong during the game.  The yellers.

Most of us, thankfully, are not that parent.

But…there’s more to doing the right thing by your young athlete than restraining yourself from pounding on the glass, or even consistently praising your child’s effort after the game.  Thanks to MYHA’s partnership with the Positive Coaching Alliance, on Thursday, December 5 and Monday December 16, all MYHA parents will have the opportunity to attend PCA’s highly-recommended training program: Developing Winners in Life Through Sports.

This is a FREE program is for all MYHA parents and is led by professional PCA facilitators; the session will provide valuable pointers for…

- Talking to your child about practices, games, and what they are learning through sports

- Helping your skater bounce back from mistakes and adversity

- Finding the right mix of truthful, specific praise and constructive criticism

…and more.

MYHA strongly encourages parents to attend this interactive ONLINE session.  We promise it will be well worth your time – and applicable to your experience across all youth sports.
