Eric  Blitz  




Tier II          Squirt A
Level 2

Coaching Experience: Eric has coached in the MYHA program for the past 5 years at the Atom, Mite, and Squirt levels. This year, in addition to coaching the Squirt A team, Eric is also assisting with the House Atoms. Player Bio: Eric grew up playing his youth hockey in New York and went on to play club hockey in college. Eric is still an active player on two adult teams in the Washington, DC area.

Level 4

Coaching Experience: Chris has been an MYHA coach for the past four years. Last year Chris was the head coach of the MYHA Bantam A team as well as a House Mite team. Playing Experience: Chris grew up in Montreal, playing youth hockey, and he continues to play adult hockey in Rockville.

Level 4

Coaching Experience: Tony has been coaching various teams in the Capital Beltway Hockey League since 1988. Last year Tony was the Head Coach of the MYHA Squirt A team and an Assistant Coach with the Peewee A team. Player Bio: He grew up playing his youth hockey in the CBHL. Tony went on to play at Avon Old Farms School in Avon, Conn., from 1976-1979. He continues to play adult hockey in Rockville, Md.

Rob  Keegan  




Tier II          Mite A
Level 4

Coaching experience: Rob is MYHA’s full-time Director of Coaching and a 17-year veteran head instructor for the Turcotte Stickhandling Hockey School, one of the nation’s top hockey camps. Rob is also the Director of Coaching for Team Maryland Tier I AAA Club. Rob has coached the MYHA Mite A team for the past 10 years as well as various Tier I teams for MYHA and Team Maryland. Player Bio: After Graduating from Penn State, Rob tried out for the Pittsburgh Penguins and ended up playing a year in the minor leagues for Cleveland, Johnstown, and Macon. In 2002, he was inducted into the Penn State Hockey Hall of Fame and he remains the school’s third all-time leading scorer. Rob also played at Berkshire Prep School in Sheffield, Mass., and youth hockey for the Chicago Young Americans AAA Tier I team.

Jason  Levine  




Tier II          Squirt B
Level 3

Coaching Experience: Jason has had several MYHA coaching jobs, including Mite B assistant coach, instructional coordinator and a Mite house head coach. Last season, Jason was the Head Coach at the House Atom level as well as the head coach of the MYHA Squirt B team. After college, he was a player-coach in the New England Senior Hockey League. He is also a former assistant coach of the women's varsity hockey team at Wesleyan University. Player Bio: A Rockville native, Jason helped create the University of Virginia Ice Hockey Club, a Division II ACHA team. He played three seasons for the team as a graduate student, earning two ACC championships. He played varsity hockey for Wesleyan University’s NCAA Division III team. As a youth, he played for the CBHL Capital Boys Hockey Club.

Paul  Lofgren  




Tier II          U18AA
Level 5

Coaching Experience: Paul enters his second season as MYHA’s U18 AA Head Coach. Paul, who has been coaching youth hockey since the early 1980s, is head coach of the Richard Montgomery High School hockey team. He is also a USA Hockey Coaching Education Program (CEP) instructor and a director of the Maryland Scholastic Hockey League. Player Bio: Paul grew up in Boston, where he started playing pond hockey at age 6. He played high school hockey until he was struck by a drunk driver and broke his leg, an injury that ended his competitive hockey career. He still plays adult hockey.

Billy  Maloni  




Tier II          Midget U16A
Level 3

Coaching Experience: Billy enters his first season as a Head Coach after two years as MYHA’s Midget U16 AA Assistant Coach. Player Bio: Billy played travel hockey for MYHA from the age of 12 through high school and then went on to play collegiate hockey for four years at Trinity College in Hartford, CT.

Ray  McKenzie  




Tier II          Squirt AA
Level 4

Coaching Experience: Ray has coached MYHA and Team Maryland Tier I AAA Squirt and Peewee Teams for the past 4 years. Last year, Ray was the Head Coach for Team Maryland Peewee Major Tier I team. Player Bio: Ray is from Fort Washington, PA, where he played high school hockey for the Germantown Academy and captained his team in his senior year. Ray also played youth hockey for the Wissahickon Skating Club in Chestnut Hill. He then went on to play four years of varsity college hockey at the University of Rochester in Rochester, NY where he was captain his senior year.

Ken  Medearis  




Tier II          Bantam B
Level 4

Coaching Experience: Ken has coached various youth sports (Hockey, Soccer, and Tennis) for the past 30 years. He returns for his seventh season as an MYHA coach. He has coached at both the house and travel levels (Mite, Squirt, Peewee, and Bantam) for the past six years. Player Bio: Ken played collegiate soccer at Whitman College and currently plays adult hockey for the Ice Turtles out of the Rockville Rink.

John  O’Connell  




Tier II          Midget U16AA
Level 3

Coaching Experience: John enters his second season coaching MYHA. Last year, John was the Assistant Coach for the MYHA Midget U18 AA team. John preaches that dedication and hard work are prerequisites to success. Player Bio: John started playing organized hockey at the age of six, after moving to Ames, IA, and played on various regional travel and select teams through high school, in addition to playing four years of varsity high school. John went on to play two years of collegiate hockey at the University of St. Thomas in St. Paul, MN.

Rob  Payne  




Tier II          Bantam A
Level 4

Coaching Experience: Rob has coached and been the goaltending coach at various Tier I and Tier II levels for MYHA and Capital Stars over the past 9 years at the Mite, Bantam, and Midget levels, winning 5 CBHL League and 4 CBHL Playoff Championships, as well as appearing in 4 Southeastern District and 3 National Silver Stick Tournaments. Currently, Rob is also the goaltending coach for Dematha High School as well as the Assistant Coach for the Varsity 1 team and the Head Coach for the Varsity 2 team. Player Bio: Rob is a Maryland Native, growing up in Calvert County, playing for the Bowie Bruins and Washington Little Capitals. Rob went on to play 3 seasons of Minor League Professional Hockey in the ECHL with the Chesapeake Icebreakers, Dayton Bombers, and Columbus Chill.

Bobby  Poulin  




Tier II          Pewee A
Level 4

Coaching Experience: Bobby is MYHA’s Assistant Director of coaching for the House Program. For the past 12 years he has coached various levels within the MYHA organization, including last years U16 AA team. Player Bio: Bobby played collegiate hockey at Norwich University in Vermont. After a stint in the minor leagues, Bobby returned to Montgomery to coach. He began his youth hockey career with MYHA.

Matt  Revkin  




Tier II          Bantam AA
Level 5

Coaching Experience: Matt returns as MYHA’s Bantam AA Head Coach. Matt was MYHA Midget A head coach from 1997-2002, taking the team to the national quarter-finals in 2000. He is also director of hockey operations and head coach of DeMatha Catholic High School’s varsity program. In 2000, Matt was named The Washington Post all-met coach of the year while he was head of hockey operations. In the summer, Matt is Lead Instructor for the Elite Conditioning Hockey Camp. Player Bio: Matt played a year at University of Maryland before becoming a walk-on at Southern New Hampshire University, where he played three seasons. He grew up in Maryland, playing goalie for Howard County.
